What we did.

Mary Jo and Newborn

We served at the Karolyn Kempton Memorial Christian Hospital.  Mary Jo was using her skills in OB to help the many babies that come our way.  Over 600 deliveries in 2006 at our small hospital!  This ministry allowed her a tremendous amount of time to minister to the many ladies that came to her for either their pre-natal care and/or delivery.  She also picked up training to care for the anesthesia needs of our surgical cases.  She was the O.R. supervisor and helped to oversee the anesthesia cases.

Our ministries outside the hospital included visiting many of our church plants to assist them in any way we could.  We were also blessed to have a small part in a couple young church plants.  Kélégougan under the leadership of Pastor Tona (pictured to the right of Steve) was moving ahead in the Lomé area and now had a membership of well over 250.  Agbonou is a daughter church plant of one of our (Togo Team) original church plants in the Atakpamé area.  Pastor Lomdoh is the leader in this growing work of over 100 people.

Frequent meetings for the Team Leader

Steve served as the team leader/field coordinator for A.B.W.E.-Togo.  He along with (Gib Dickinson as the assistant team leader) helped to set the direction of our missionaries in Togo(Under the Leadership of Ron Washer - the Regional Administrator).  In November 2011, Jim Gerhart assumed the position of Team Leader.  With Steve’s medical background, he has also helped with the surgical demands at the hospital.  When there was only one surgeon there, he was occasionally asked to help with both the call schedule and surgical load.
